From Skeptic to Believer: How Visioning Changed My Life

What started as doubt turned into one of the most powerful tools I now use—for myself and my clients.
I used to think visioning was nonsense. I believed in hard work, taking action, putting on my helmet, and tackling my way through life. If someone had told me years ago that visioning would become a big part of my life, I would’ve said, “No way.”
But life has a way of proving us wrong—and opening our minds in unexpected ways.
My Turning Point
After a serious infection landed me in the hospital, I began a journey of healing—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I knew I needed to leave my job, but I had no idea what direction to go in next. That’s when I first learned about visioning. Not as some fantasy, but as a practical tool used by athletes, CEOs, and high performers to set clear goals and stay focused.
I wasn’t convinced… but I decided to give it a try.
A New Perspective
That’s when everything started to shift. Instead of picturing a specific job or title, I began to imagine how I wanted to feel in my next chapter. I saw myself waking up excited for the day ahead. Coming home feeling proud, fulfilled, like I’d made an impact. I envisioned myself working with joy, smiling, making decisions with clarity, and knowing my work aligned with my values and true self.
The more I allowed myself to imagine what I really wanted, the more my mindset changed. I felt more positive. I made clearer decisions. I took action with more confidence and ease.
I wasn’t just reacting to life anymore—I was actively creating my future.
Helping Others Do the Same
Once I experienced how powerful visioning was in my own life, I began using it with my coaching clients—and the results have been transformational.
I often use this tool to help clients shift out of frustration or confusion. Instead of focusing on everything they don’t like about their current situation, visioning helps them redirect their attention toward what they do want. This simple yet powerful shift brings immediate clarity.
Clients who once felt stuck start to see new possibilities. They gain a renewed sense of direction, feel more confident in their choices, and begin taking aligned action—because now they have a clear vision guiding them forward.
Why Visioning Works
It’s backed by neuroscience – Research shows that the brain responds to vivid visualization much like it does to real-life experiences. Athletes have used this for decades to improve performance—with science to prove it.
It brings goal clarity – When you can clearly see what you want, your subconscious mind starts working to make it real.
It creates emotional alignment – When your vision feels good, you're more motivated, focused, and resilient.
It may tap into energy principles – Some believe visioning connects to the Law of Attraction: like energy attracts like energy.
It’s used in business and leadership – Visioning isn’t just personal. Companies use it to create strategic plans, align teams, and inspire action.
Try It for Yourself
If you think visioning is a bunch of woo woo, I get it—I used to think that too. But if you're feeling uncertain or stuck, what if this is the tool that helps you move forward?
You don’t have to fully believe in it. Just be open to trying. It might change your life the way it changed mine.
